Established in 1982, the Rhode Island Food Bank has worked to provide healthy food to people in need and to search for a long term, sustainable solution to the issue of hunger. The Food Bank collects and distributes millions of pounds of food to people in need throughout the state, but it also utilizes innovative programs such as the Community Cooking initiative to help men and women eat healthily even on a low budget.
