their mobility and to connect with community. The Jewish Alliance, through a
partnership with a local taxi company, is offering highly subsidized vouchers to
those who qualify. Access: Senior Transportation is available for Jewish Rhode
Islanders ages 65 and older or individuals with an ADA-recognized disability.

GATRA oversees operations of fixed route bus services in the cities of Attleboro and Taunton, and the towns of Duxbury, Franklin, Kingston, Mansfield, Marshfield, Middleborough, North Attleboro, Norton, Plainville, Plymouth, Raynham, Seekonk, and Wareham. In 2014, GATRA launched the Tri-Town Connector, bringing fixed route service to the towns of Norfolk, Wrentham, and Foxborough.
In addition to fixed route service, GATRA provides demand response (Dial-A-Ride) services for people with disabilities and seniors in all 28 member communities. GATRA also plays a vital role in the provision of Commuter Rail service to Boston by providing shuttle services to MBTA stations in the towns of Bellingham, Franklin, Norton, Mansfield, Medway, Middleborough, and Pembroke.

LogistiCare provides transportation services to those 60 and older, and adults with disabilities under 60 who meet certain criteria. Transportation is available weekdays for medical appointments and tests, adult day care, kidney dialysis, cancer treatments, and senior center/community meal sites. There is a $2 one-way fee per ride. LogistiCare also assists persons enrolled in Medicaid to arrange non-emergency medical transportation for a Medicaid-covered service.
The MBTA has accessibility policies in effect system-wide and are designed to improve the transportation experience for all of our customers.

Community Action Programs are located throughout the state and their services include senior care, after school programs, employment assistance, health and dental care, counseling, housing and heating cost assistance.

VISIT THE WEBSITERhode Island Public Transportation Authority (RIPTA) offers low-income persons with a disability, or age 65 and older, the opportunity to ride free of charge on a RIPTA bus with a RIPTA No Fare Bus Pass. All other persons age 65 and older, or persons with a disability, pay full fare from 7:00am to 9:00am and from 3:00pm to 6:00pm on weekdays, and pay half-price at all other times, with the presentation of a RIPTA Senior/Disabled Pass, or a Medicare ID card.

VISIT THE WEBSITEThe RIde Program is part of RIPTA’S Complimentary Paratransit Service required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).RIde is a public transportation service, and other passengers are likely to be on board during your trip. Your scheduled pick-up times or travel route may be altered so that another passenger can be accommodated. The van may stop and pick up other riders as it travels to your destination. Shared rides lower the cost of paratransit service. Reservations are required for all paratransit services. To make a reservation, call 401.461.9760 between 8:30am and 4:30pm from Monday through Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays, passengers may make reservations between 8:00am and 4:00pm. The RIde office is closed on RIPTA recognized holidays.

2-1-1 provides a trained and caring human connection – a call specialist – who helps people find assistance on everything from childcare needs and mental health issues, food and heating assistance, to gambling problems and elder care services. In the event of a significant storm or natural disaster, United Way 2-1-1 in Rhode Island support state agencies and connects people to critical services.
Accessible taxis greatly improve access to transportation for the mobility impaired. Several local taxi companies serve communities in Rhode Island, including Providence, Cranston, Johnston, Newport, Warwick, and Woonsocket.
