VISIT THE WEBSITEThe RIde Program is part of RIPTA’S Complimentary Paratransit Service required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).RIde is a public transportation service, and other passengers are likely to be on board during your trip. Your scheduled pick-up times or travel route may be altered so that another passenger can be accommodated. The van may stop and pick up other riders as it travels to your destination. Shared rides lower the cost of paratransit service. Reservations are required for all paratransit services. To make a reservation, call 401.461.9760 between 8:30am and 4:30pm from Monday through Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays, passengers may make reservations between 8:00am and 4:00pm. The RIde office is closed on RIPTA recognized holidays.

Elder Services can assist the elderly and their families with everything from navigating the services available in the community to providing hands-on assistance. Elder services through the Diocese of Providence include information and referral, neighborhood visitor program, respite services, and senior health insurance program.
SeniorGuidance.org provides comprehensive resources on various senior living options, including: assisted living facilities, senior living communities, nursing homes, independent living communities, continuing care retirement communities (CCRC) and all other long term senior care options, including memory care such as Alzheimer’s or Dementia.
The Point provides information, referrals, and help getting started with programs and services for seniors, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers. Some of their services include: benefits screening, geriatric counseling, and Medicare enrollment.

2-1-1 provides a trained and caring human connection – a call specialist – who helps people find assistance on everything from childcare needs and mental health issues, food and heating assistance, to gambling problems and elder care services. In the event of a significant storm or natural disaster, United Way 2-1-1 in Rhode Island support state agencies and connects people to critical services.
